What Is a Public Adjuster?

A public adjuster is a licensed insurance professional who works for you — the policyholder — not the insurance company. We document your loss, put a real value on it, and negotiate your claim directly with your insurer, so your settlement reflects what it actually costs to make your property whole. It’s the same kind of work the insurance company’s adjuster does — except we do it for your side of the table.

Three Adjusters. Only One Works for You.

After a loss, you’ll deal with “adjusters” — but it’s worth knowing who each one actually works for.

The staff adjuster works for your insurance company. They’re paid by the insurer, and their job is to settle your claim for what the company decides it’s worth.

The independent adjuster is hired by the insurer to handle the claim in the field. Different business card, same side of the table — they still answer to your insurance carrier.

The public adjuster is the only one who works for you. We’re hired by you, paid only out of your recovery, and bound to represent your interests — never the insurer’s.

When the only expert in the room works for the insurance company, the number tends to come out in the company’s favor. A public adjuster evens the sides.

Why the Deck Is Stacked

Your insurer handles thousands of claims a year. You’ll handle one or two in your lifetime — and you’re doing it on the worst day of your year, while you’re trying to put your life back together. The company’s adjuster decides what they think your loss is worth, often after a quick walkthrough and a number that looks reasonable until you actually start rebuilding. Most people have no way to know whether that number is right or thousands short. We do this every day. We know what gets missed, what gets left out, and what a real repair costs — and we put it in front of your insurer in terms they can’t wave off.

What We Do for You

We review your policy line by line, so you know exactly what you’re entitled to. We document the full loss — including the damage that’s easy to miss and the costs that never show up on a quick look. We scope every dollar with certified Xactimate estimating, the same software the carriers use, so your claim is built to industry standard. We value and prepare the claim, handle the back-and-forth with your insurer, and negotiate for the full, fair settlement — and we keep going until it’s right.

You focus on your family and your home. We handle the claim.

When to Call Us

There are two good moments to bring in a public adjuster.

Right after a loss — before the insurer’s adjuster sets the tone. The earlier we’re documenting, the stronger your claim.

Or after a lowball offer or a denial — you can hire a public adjuster mid-claim, even if you’ve already started. If the number feels wrong, it often is, and it’s not too late to fight it.

Either way, the first conversation is free.

How We’re Paid

We work on contingency. You pay nothing up front, and nothing at all unless we recover for you. Our fee is a percentage of your settlement, agreed in writing before we ever start — and your first claim review is always free. No recovery, no fee. It means we only win when you do.

Not Sure If You Need One? Let’s Talk.

A free claim review costs you nothing and tells you where you really stand. If you don’t need us, we’ll say so. If you do, you’ll have someone in your corner who does this every day — and works only for you.
